Modern organizations become dist ributed and maintain multiple iden tity repositories. This reality promotes spreading identity attributes across inform ation systems and landscaping identity silos. Many security use cases require identity silos consolidation that can be set through identity aggregation. In this paper, we explain within identi ty management parlance and compare between attributes aggregation conceptual models: meta-centralization, virtual-centralization, and identity federation. We propose also a framework would help organizations to conduct implementation projects of attributes aggregation. A great attention should be paid simultaneously to strategic purpose, aggregation models, architectures, and implementations.

Contrary to Digital Rights Ma nagement systems (DRMS), CONFUO© O [Schmucker, M. and Ebinger, P., 2005] is a legal peer-to-peer file sharing applica tion that controls content distribution as opposed to content usage. A central entity called Trusted Third Party (TTP) validates whether users are allowed to legally distribute a particular content and users within the CONFUO©O system enable peer monitoring to identify irregularities. Several of the core features (such as inter-user observation) have not yet been tested or approved for use on the Internet. This article demonstrates the it erative improvement of CONFUO©O’s security over conventional DRM systems. A summary of the extensive security analysis performed to identify threats and potential vulnerabilities resulting from the abuse of this new protocol is presented and led to the discovery of a possible Denial-of-Service (DoS) thr eat. Dynamic Simulation of Inextensible Cloth

In this paper an impulse-based method for cloth si mulation is presented. The simulation of cloth is required in different application ar eas like computer animation, virt ual reality or computer games. Simulation methods often assume that cloth is an el astic material. With this assumption the simulation can be performed very efficiently using spring forces. The problem is that many textiles cannot be stretched significantly. A realistic simulation of these textiles with spring forces leads to stiff differential equations which cause a deterioration of performance. The impulse-based method described in this paper solves this problem and allows the realistic simulation of inelastic textiles.

This paper describes a strategy for automatically converting fiction text into 3D animations. It assumes the existence of fiction text annotated with avatar, object, setting, transition and relation annotations, and presents a transformation process that converts annotat ed text into quantified constraint systems, the solutions to which are used in the population of 3D environments. Constraint solutions are valid over temporal intervals, ensuring that consistent dyna mic behaviour is produced. A substantial level of automation is achieved, while providing opportuniti es for creative manual intervention in animation process. The process is demonstrat ed using annotated examples drawn from popular fiction text that are converted into animation sequences, confirming that the desired results can be achieved with only high- level human direction.
Synchronising Video Session Recordings and Textual Transcriptions From the Andalusian Parliament

In the Andalusian Parliament, at Spain, all the matters discussed in the sessions are stored in two different media: a textual transcription containing all the speeches of the Members of the Parliament, plus a video recording all the session. The only link between these two informa tion sources is the event that they represent. But it could be very interesting and useful for a user, that given a part of a record of parliamentary proceedings, she could access directly to the part of the video related to this text. To make this connection, a previous process of video segmen tation must be performed, in order to split the video in the most appropriate units. Later, a synchroni zation step between the different parts of the transcriptions and the segments is needed. In this paper, approaches to give a solution to this problem are presented.
Business and Information Systems Misalignment: Diagnosis, Therapy and Prophylaxis Techniques Based on Syndromes

Alignment is an intentional state organizations aim at. Misalignments are the factors that organizations as a whole and its organizational actor as enablers face in their routine business operations. This paper proposes a misalignment approach based on medical sciences, arguing that by observing organizations as systems and using an approach similar to that adopted by the medical sciences in the study of the human body system, the misalignment classification and ma nagement capabilities mi ght be improved. We believe that the medical science concepts provide an interesting foundation to set the misalignment semantics and terminology, thus establishing the grounds of a misalignment cl assification schema and providing techniques to detect, correct and prevent the misalignments. Ther efore, using a metaphor between disease and misalignment, a set of concepts defined by medical science, such as symptom, sign, syndrome, etiology, diagnosis, therapy and prophyl axis, are adapted to address the problem of misalignment between business and information systems. Based on both academic research and years of professional consultancy, the authors propose an initial and possible instantiation to those concepts, establishing a misalignment classification scheme that links enterprise architecture views, misalignment symptoms and causes, and defining techniques to detect, correct and prevent misalignments.

Object relational database management systems (ORDBMS) are becoming more popular in storing and retrieving XML than native XML DBMS. In most ORDBMS, XML is stored as CLOB inside the relation. Efficient XML parsers a nd indexing techniques are used to retrieve the desired XML nodes. However, less attention is given to XML updates queries. With the upcoming standa rdization of XML updates queries, the current implementation of the lock granularity imposes a great limitation on the concurrency of parallel transactions. This motivat ed several experimental ORDBMS to shred the XML nodes across internal relations. This approach has also several drawbacks. In this paper, we propose an adaptive technique for selective shredding. It is based on existing database engines and takes the changes in the workload pattern into consideration. We an alyze the performance of our approach and compare it to the CLOB and the complete shredding approaches.

Technology-related Privacy Concerns: a Review

The exponential adoption of the Internet for trans action and interaction purposes continues unabated. However, despite the obvious empowering benefits of the Internet, consumers concerns regarding the ability of online vendors to collect and use information regarding them and their online interactions have also increased. Vendors facing inte nse competition in the marketplace are under increasing pressure to gain a more sophisticated understanding of their c onsumers and thus view the collection of consumers’ personal and interaction information as essential to achieving that understanding. Awareness of this fact has accentuated consumers’ privacy concerns and in some cases impacted interaction intentions and behaviour. Similarly, in the co mputer-mediated work environment, employees’ awareness that communication-monitoring technologies are being used to monitor their email and Internet interactions has increased. Despite the importance of this issue, research on te chnology-related privacy concerns remains in an embryonic stage. Moreover, the lite rature indicates that much confusion surrounds the construct and in many studies the construct is neith er clearly defined nor opera tionalised. The aim of this paper is therefore to reduce that confusion by providing a brief review of the literature while outlining potential research avenues worthy of future research. This paper provides researchers with a deeper insight and holistic understanding of th e construct and conseque ntly makes a valuable contribution not only to info rmation systems research but also to pr actitioners in their efforts to better understand the factors that predict and inhibit technology-related privacy concerns.
